The Proper Way of Packing A Suitcase.
![]() |
Plastic bags keep shoes and belts from damaging your clothes and should be placed along the spine of the suitcase so they are at the bottom when the case is carried. Try: Design Go Shoe Packers |

Don't fold your pants up; lay them in the suitcase with the legs over the sides. |

Continue layering shirts, sweaters and jackets as evenly as possible. |

Finally, fold the pant legs over top of the shirts, sweaters and jackets to avoid creases. Remember that rolled ties, socks and other small items will help to fill space in the corners. |
The Easy Way To Fold A Suit Jacket

- Lay unbuttoned jacket flat with the front facing up.
- Lay a piece of plastic from the dry cleaners on top and fold the arms of the jacket over the plastic
- Fold over the top third of the jacket.
- Fold over the bottom third of the jacket.
- Place the folded jacket in the dry-cleaner bag.
Practical Tips
- Make sure your bag, no matter what type, is packed so that it is full but not straining. The less room there is for garments to shift, the less wrinkled your clothes will be after the journey.
- Empty all jacket and trouser pockets as keys and coins can damage fabric.
- Hang your suits as soon as you get to your destination. There will always be some creases that you need to let hang out.
- Place fragile objects in the middle of your luggage so the clothes around will act as a buffer. However, it's better still to have breakables in your carry-on bag. For breakables try: VinniBag Inflatable Travel Bag
- Put wool sweaters in plastic bags so the fuzz won't transfer to other clothing.
- Use small items such as underwear and socks to fill empty spaces in the corners and around the sides of your luggage to help prevent shifting.
